Delivery Clearance
As a general planning guideline, allow roughly 65 feet of straight clearance for many 20-foot-or-smaller deliveries and roughly 120 feet for many 40-foot deliveries. These are planning estimates—not guarantees. Confirm the supplier’s truck-specific requirement before delivery.
Check the Entire Approach
- Road and driveway width
- Gate width and turning radius
- Low branches, wires, eaves and other overhead obstacles
- Soft ground, steep grades and drainage
- Room for the truck to enter, unload and exit
Prepare the Placement Area
A firm, reasonably level area helps doors operate properly and reduces settling. Depending on the site and local requirements, customers commonly use compacted gravel, concrete, asphalt or suitable supports at load points. Ask the supplier what they recommend for the specific unit and delivery method.
Confirm Door Orientation
Tell the provider which direction you want the cargo doors facing. Tilt-bed delivery orientation matters because the end that leaves the trailer first affects final placement.
